Shoes are a necessary part of life.  Shoes keep the broken crack pipes of the NYC sidewalk out of my feet.  But how many shoes are really necessary?  My lovely wife has lot of shoes.  I lost count after the 60th pair.

So how many is too many?  I think 60 is too many. If you can wear a different pair of shoes every day for 2 months, than you have too many shoes.  Yet somehow whenever there is a special occasion or a big meeting at the office, my wife is always complaining that she does not have the proper pair of shoes to wear.

I think I am going to move to Alaska so she only needs one pair of shoes, snow boots.  Maybe I’ll move to the Caribbean so she only needs flip-flops.  Flips-flops are much cheaper than the high heels she likes and take up alot less room.
