It will actually inspire you, I'm sure of it b/c so many good things come from it. BUT, beware; blogging requires time and time is money, so try to find a way to monetize it directly. AND, if you don't monetize it directly, it better lead you to gain some form of celebrity, even if your a celebrity geek, that still entitles you to drinks from other geeks and that's montetizing.
